What is the difference between S275JR H-beam and S355JR HEM240?
S275JR h beam steel structure: yield strength is 275 MPa (minimum).
S355JR h section steel beams: yield strength is 355 MPa (minimum).
The chemical composition standards of S275JR structural steel h beam and S355JR h beam material are basically the same, but S355JR may have a higher alloying element content to provide higher strength.
S275JR structural h beam is usually used for general building structures and engineering structures, and is suitable for situations where there is no particularly high load-bearing requirement.
S355JR steel h column is suitable for situations where the load-bearing requirement is higher and the structure is more important, such as high-rise buildings, bridges, cranes, ships, etc.
Since S355JR steel has a higher yield strength, its stiffness and toughness are usually better than S275JR h beam steel. Both have good welding performance, but since the carbon equivalent of S355JR beam steel may be higher, more preheating measures are required during welding.
